Pulmicort Nebuamp solution pour inhalation avec nébuliseur 0.5mg/2ml

This medication contains an anti-inflammatory drug from the cortisone family (corticosteroid). Typically, it is used to control asthma and prevent crisis. It may also have other uses. It requires several days to take effect.

Instructions

This product is usually inhaled through the mouth. However, there are other ways to administer this product, such as by the nostrils for the treatment of medical conditions affecting the sinuses. Ask your pharmacist to explain the method of administration that applies to you.

This medication is typically used twice a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Use it regularly and continuously to maintain its beneficial effects.

Using this product may cause throat irritation and coughing. You can avoid these problems by thoroughly rinsing your mouth and gargling after each dose. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember -- unless it is almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose. Do not double the next dose to catch up.

Side Effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

  • it may cause an infection of the mouth or throat, known as thrush;
  • it may cause hoarseness;
  • it may irritate your throat;
  • it may cause headaches;
  • it may alter your sense of taste;
  • it may cause a cough.

Each person may react differently to a treatment. If you think this medication may be causing side effects (including those described here, or others), talk to your health care professional. He or she can help you to determine whether or not the medication is the source of the problem.

Storage

Keep this product at room temperature. Once envelope is opened, use ampoules within 3 months. Opened ampoules must be used within 12 hours. Store it in a secure location where it will not be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.

This medication may interact with other medications or supplements, sometimes significantly. Many interactions, however, may be dealt with by a dosage adjustment or a change in medication schedule.
